Hands-on Workshops with Upcycled Materials at Summer Camp

For eight weeks, Fading Blue collaborated with the Flat Rock Brook Nature Center in Englewood, NJ, to reuse typically discarded items for various art projects and workshops. These projects included cup holder coral reefs, recycled water bottle terrariums, and bottle cap fish scenes.
Week 1
July 3 2026
Curriculum designed and workshop lead by Andrew Shin
Turned recycled cup holders and scrap tissue paper into a miniature coral reef craft.
4 high school volunteers from Fading Blue and 11 campers participated.

Week 2
July 10 2026
Curriculum designed and workshop lead by Andrew Shin
Turned recycled bottles, soil, charcoal, and greens from a backyard into a bottle terrarium.
7 high school volunteers from Fading Blue and 9 campers participated.
